Mission Statement / Programmatic Model:
Built on Mercy, rooted in Gospel values, and committed to academic excellence, St. Alphonsus Catholic School is a co-educational school for students in grades Prekindergarten through Grade 7. The administration, faculty, and staff are dedicated to responding to the needs of the whole child and supporting his/her spiritual, intellectual, physical, social, and moral development. St. Alphonsus School is a place where all involved form a FAMILY which ministers together to provide a loving, safe, Christian environment where all feel accepted and respected and where each member of the family is challenged, encouraged, and empowered to develop into a whole person who uses his/her gifts to build up the Kingdom of God.
School Performance
Most New Orleans public schools are charter schools, public schools governed by non-profit boards. Each board is given a contract to operate their charter school for a number of years. When the contract is up for renewal, the Orleans Parish School Board or Louisiana Department of Education uses school performance to determine if the contract should be renewed. If the school hasn’t demonstrated acceptable performance, it may close at the end of the school year, or be taken over by a new non-profit board.
This school’s academic performance data and next renewal year can be found below. For more information on school accountability, click here.
