New! New Orleans Guide to Early Childhood Education

Early Childhood Late Enrollment

Early Childhood families (6 weeks – 4 years old) who still need a school for the 2019-2020 school year can participate in Late Enrollment. After you have completed your eligibility check at OneApp.force.com, you must complete verification.

When is Early Childhood Late Enrollment?

If you are applying to Head Start (6 weeks – 3 years old),  Head Start centers will be CLOSED the month of July. You will need to contact one of the Head Start eligibility centers to schedule an appointment to complete verification when they re-open. Click here for contact information.

If you are applying to PK4 or non-Head Start programs, you may verify at one of our Family Resource Centers beginning Monday, July 29.

Which Early Childhood applicants should participate in Late Enrollment?
  • Eligible families new to New Orleans
  • Eligible families who either did not participate in the Main Round, or did not verify their eligibility

Families who submitted an application and verified their eligibility during the Main Round DO NOT need to participate in Late Enrollment. Your child either has a placement, or has been added to up to three waitlist(s) of programs listed on your Main Round application.

To see your placement or waitilists visit your OneApp Parent Portal account at oneapp.force.com. Detailed instructions and current waitlist status will be available on your Parent Portal account. Families can also change waitlist choices in the parent portal.

Please note:

  • If you are satisfied with your waitlists choices, you should not participate in Late Enrollment. You will be contacted via phone and email should a seat become available for your child at your waitlisted program(s).
  • If you would like to change your waitlisted program(s), you may do so from your Parent Portal account. If you choose to change your waitlists, you will be added to the back of the waitlist for non Head Start programs. Please consider carefully before changing your waitlisted programs.
  • Log into your Parent Portal account at oneapp.force.com for information on your child’s waitlisted program(s).

How do I add waitlist choices? Early Childhood families can manage their child’s waitlisted programs through the OneApp Parent Portal (oneapp.force.com). Log into your account to add, remove, or change your child’s waitlisted programs.

  • Log into your Parent Portal account, click on the Pre-K tab, and scroll to your Family Profile. If your child is verified for Early Childhood programs, a button called “Manage Waitlist” will appear next to your child’s name.
  • Click on “Manage Waitlist” and follow the instructions to add, remove, or change your child’s waitlisted programs.
  • If your child is actively enrolled in a participating Early Childhood program for the 2019-2020 school year, you may add them to 1 waitlist.
