Early Childhood Open Enrollment

Early Childhood families (6 weeks – 4 years old) who still need a school for the this year can participate in Open Enrollment. After you have completed your eligibility check at OneApp.force.com, you must complete verification through the online document submission portal.

Which Early Childhood applicants should participate in Open Enrollment?
  • Families with children who need seats at an Early Childhood program before August of the next school year
  • Eligible families new to New Orleans

Families who submitted an application and verified their eligibility during the Main Round this school year DO NOT need to participate in Open Enrollment. Your child either has a placement, or has been added to up to three waitlist(s) of programs listed on your Main Round application.

To see your placement or which waitlists you are on visit your OneApp Parent Portal account at oneapp.force.com. Detailed instructions and current waitlist status will be available on your Parent Portal account. Families can also change waitlist choices in the parent portal.

Please note:

  • If you are satisfied with your waitlists choices, you should not participate in Open Enrollment. You will be contacted via phone and email should a seat become available for your child at your waitlisted program(s).
  • If you would like to change your waitlisted program(s), you may do so from your Parent Portal account. If you choose to change your waitlists, you will be added to the back of the waitlist for non Head Start programs. Please consider carefully before changing your waitlisted programs.
  • Log into your Parent Portal account at oneapp.force.com for information on your child’s waitlisted program(s).

*PK3 & PK4 non-Head Start seats are first-come, first-served. Some programs and grades will not have open seats. Check Seat Availability to review options and grades with remaining open seats.

How do I add waitlist choices? Early Childhood families can manage their child’s waitlisted programs through the OneApp Parent Portal (oneapp.force.com). Log into your account to add, remove, or change your child’s waitlisted programs.

  • Log into your Parent Portal account, click on the Pre-K tab, and scroll to your Family Profile. If your child is verified for Early Childhood programs, a button called “Manage Waitlist” will appear next to your child’s name.
  • Click on “Manage Waitlist” and follow the instructions to add, remove, or change your child’s waitlisted programs.
  • If your child is actively enrolled in a participating Early Childhood program for this school year, you may add them to 1 waitlist.
  • If your child is not yet enrolled in a participating Early Childhood program for this school year, you may add them to up to 3 waitlists.
  • Programs with open seats are not available as waitlist options. Schools with open seats will not display in the Parent Portal. Verified families can take open seats in PK 3 and PK 4 non Head Start programs by visiting a family resource center.
  • If you choose to change your waitlists, you will be added to the back of the waitlist for PK 3 and PK 4 non Head Start programs. Please consider carefully before changing your waitlisted programs.
  • See the Early Childhood Seat Availability Report to see which schools have available seats and how long waitlists are. The Early Childhood Seat Availability report will be updated bi-weekly.
