The mission of Langston Hughes Academy Charter School is to provide all scholars with the knowledge, skills and character traits necessary to succeed in high school, college and the world beyond.

School Performance

Most New Orleans public schools are charter schools, public schools governed by non-profit boards. Each board is given a contract to operate their charter school for a number of years. When the contract is up for renewal, the Orleans Parish School Board or Louisiana Department of Education uses school performance to determine if the contract should be renewed. If the school hasn’t demonstrated acceptable performance, it may close at the end of the school year, or be taken over by a new non-profit board.

Below we display school performance information.  Due to COVID-19, It is important to note that this performance information reflects student performance data gathered during the 2018 school year.  We encourage you to use all of the information available on this page and by contacting the school to learn more about how the school can meet your family’s needs.
