NOLA-PS Common Application (NCAP) Main Round

The NOLA-PS Common Application or (NCAP) is a unified enrollment process offering students the opportunity to access all New Orleans Public Schools using a single application. Main Round is the term used for the opening or first round of the common application process. It is during this round when schools have the most available open seats for families to fill.

Families seeking to apply to a new school for the 2022-2023 school year, participate in the NCAP. Families who need a school for the current school year can enroll immediately into an available seat.

Main Round Application dates:

    • Opens – 11/1/2021
    • Closes: 1/21/2022

Hardship Transfers begin after October 1st for parents interested in transferring students from one OneApp participating school to another OneApp participating school.  Parents can request this transfer through April 1st , during the 2021/2022 school year.

Hardship transfers must meet outlined criteria for approval. Parents must prove that their request falls into one of the four hardship categories.

  • Medical
  • Safety
  • Childcare
  • Emergency

Parents will meet with schools  to discuss and resolve concerns prior to submitting the Hardship Transfer Request. If a resolution can not be established, the school will work with the parent to fill out the Hardship Transfer form.

Please ensure that the request has been filled completely and accompanied with supporting documentation to avoid any processing delays. Hardship Transfer Requests and Supporting documents are submitted by the school and a completed copy should be provided to the parent/ guardian at the conclusion of the conference.

Submissions must include the correct contact information for the parent/guardian for cases that require follow-up discussions.  Hardship Transfer decisions are made by The Transitions Team at  NOLA Public Schools.
