Mission Statement / Programmatic Model:
New Harmony High will focus on coastal restoration and preservation. We will prepare students for graduation, college, career and beyond through real-world problem and project based curriculum that responds to the essential question: how will we survive and thrive in Louisiana today & into the future? We will engage in communities through internships, working alongside mentors to create new harmonies in our quest for survival. We will participate in exhibitions of learning, create autobiographies, and maintain portfolios to show long-term growth. We will be stewards for Lousiana's future.

School Performance

Most New Orleans public schools are charter schools, public schools governed by non-profit boards. Each board is given a contract to operate their charter school for a number of years. When the contract is up for renewal, the Orleans Parish School Board or Louisiana Department of Education uses school performance to determine if the contract should be renewed. If the school hasn’t demonstrated acceptable performance, it may close at the end of the school year, or be taken over by a new non-profit board.
